More Wisdom from Palin & Bachmann

Sometimes the American people get confused. They think that we went to Iraq to find WMDs, when clearly we went in to spread democracy. They think that Bush, not Obama, started the financial crisis we remained mired in. Silly fools! They think that there actually could be something to this global warming malarkey when obviously it's a huge plot to make millions for Nobel Prize winning scientists (duh!!!). And they actually think they're might be more than just a "few bad apples" behind all the banking and corporate corruption unearthed in the past decade or so when clearly only those who get caught are bad guys. These important correctives, of course, tend to come to us from the more conservative, and well-informed, side of the media -- often gaining widespread coverage on Fox News. Now, while the divorces of Kim Kardasian and Zooey Deshanel are clearly more important, I did hear about some people protesting in New York and some other cities. What's up with them?

Well, thanks to Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann I now know they're just some crazy crackpot liberals aiming their ire at the wrong people. I did some research and found that OWS stands for "Occupy Wall Street," and that these folks are demanding fundamental change in the U.S. economy to stop bankers and Wall Street execs from destroying it for their own greed. But apparently they took the wrong road. According to Palin and Bachmann it's the White House they should be protesting in front of. Bachmann might have explained it best, while speaking to college students in Iowa: "A vocal minority called Occupy Wall Street believes that the problem we face is capitalism or free markets. It's not. The problem is government doing what both the constitution and decent morality prohibit, that is cronyism capitalism, or forcefully taking your money for the purpose of paying off a politician’s political friends. For your sake and your future, America, and Occupy Wall Street in particular, needs to wake up and stop blaming job creators for the failures created by selfish politicians who wink at their political donors." (Slate)

Wow, powerful stuff. Well now I know the truth. Of course, one could ask the question of who those political donors are that they're paying off? Wait those aren't the same Wall Street people the protesters are complaining about? No it couldn't be. Or could they be the corporations that Republicans like to support? And didn't this financial crisis thingy start before Obama? Actually, asking questions is really dangerous. I think I'll just listen to whatever those two brilliant women tell me. Let them eat Twinkies!
